Yohko undergoes training to become a skilled devil hunter. Meanwhile, a nearby construction site destroys a forest containing sleeping spirits. The disturbance causes these spirits to harass the construction workers. Azusa Kanzaki, a devil hunter in training, arrives with the intention of becoming Yohko's apprentice. The two characters team up to combat the spirits that are troubling the workers at the site. This narrative introduces Azusa's role and the conflict arising from the environmental destruction affecting the supernatural entities.
