Ran receives an email from Momiji Ooka regarding a puzzle intended for Shinichi Kudo. A housekeeper who served a wealthy family for many years has died, leaving a cipher for her four sons. As a mystery lover, she sent one cipher to each son so they could collaborate to find a treasure. Shortly after sharing the codes, the eldest son lost contact, claiming he might be in trouble and asking the others to solve the code and locate him. Momiji is arriving in Tokyo on this day to provide further details about the situation.
