Three museum employees conspire to murder the curator. Detective Mouri, Ran, and Conan arrive at the museum after receiving a letter warning that the curator's life is in danger. They meet the curator, his personal nurse, and a businessman acquaintance in the garden. A heavy pile of logs rolls out of a shed, nearly crushing the group. Subsequent accidents occur, culminating in the businessman being poisoned and dying.
