Mouri Kogoro, Ran, and Conan watch the conclusion of a film featuring retired actress Misuzu Shirakawa at her residence. They tour the house alongside the actress, her three children, and a maid, observing frequent arguments where Misuzu Shirakawa appears to be the difficult party. As afternoon approaches, the actress goes to her bedroom for a nap. Shortly after, a car accident happens outside, followed by smoke emerging from the bedroom where she is resting.
