Roxy seeks Rudeus and his missing companions, investigating rumors of the Dead End. She travels to Wind port with Elinalise and Talhand, who are known to Paul. Meanwhile, Rudeus and his friends negotiate with Gallus’s smuggling group. They agree to liberate the slaves held in the hideout in exchange for passage to the Millis continent, a destination they have long desired to visit.
