Ep. 16: Kisame and Itachi prepare to extract Shukaku while Naruto vows to save Gaara.

Kisame and Itachi inform the Akatsuki that the Hidden Leaf ninjas have been repelled, allowing them to focus on extracting and sealing Shukaku. Chiyo explains that Jinchuriki like Gaara and Naruto carry Tailed Beasts within them, and the host dies if the beast is removed. Naruto furiously vows to save Gaara and hurries to the scene. Meanwhile, in the Hidden Sand, the advisory council debates Yura’s loyalty and the change in Kazekage position, causing Kankuro to attack an elder. The elders state that decisions must be taken if Gaara does not return soon. Team Kakashi rests briefly, much to Naruto's unwillingness.
