Ep. 12: Chiyo's History and the Akatsuki's Counterattack Begin

The extraction of Shukaku from Gaara starts at the Gedo Statue. Naruto wakes up and joins Kakashi, Sakura, and Chiyo to rescue Gaara from the Akatsuki. Pakkun accompanies them and alerts Team Guy to a cave in the Land of Rivers. Chiyo explains that two tailed beasts are sealed in Gaara and Naruto, with seven others existing globally, while detailing their history. Temari receives a mission to protect village boundaries if the Hidden Sand's weakness is exposed. Team Guy travels through the forest toward the Akatsuki hideout. Zetsu detects both teams and instructs his leader to deploy Itachi and Kisame to delay them. Kisame traps Lee, Neji, and Tenten using the Water Prison Technique, while Itachi engages Team Kakashi, triggering memories.
