After the Allied Shinobi are teleported to safety, Kurama grants Naruto Sage Mode and assumes Tailed Beast Mode. Together with Minato, they attack Obito using a senjutsu Rasengan, but the assault fails. Obito releases the Ten Tails, which transforms into a giant tree that drains chakra from captured shinobi. Madara reveals to Hashirama that the Ten Tails is the Shinju, the original source of all chakra. He explains a legend about Kaguya Otsutsuki, who ate the Shinju’s fruit to end an ancient war. The tree became wrathful after the birth of her son, the first chakra user and Sage of the Six Paths. Hiruzen saves Naruto from the roots. Madara states he learned this from a stone tablet and claims the Shinju’s blooming will secure the Uchiha Clan’s future when the Infinite Tsukuyomi begins.
