Ep. 1: Koyomi navigates family dynamics and a mysterious encounter with Tsubasa Hanekawa during Golden Week.

During the start of Golden Week, prior to Bakemonatari, Tsukihi wakes Koyomi, who then questions her about his romantic feelings for a new classmate. Tsukihi dismisses this as sexual frustration and recommends purchasing adult magazines. Following a short interaction with Karen, Koyomi departs on his bicycle and meets Tsubasa Hanekawa, who displays a prominent bandage on her left cheek. Tsubasa reveals that her foster father struck her face and pleads for secrecy, promising to fulfill any request in return for his silence. Instead of exploiting this offer, Koyomi simply asks to donate his blood to help heal her injury.
