The city depends on ELEKI-MAGMA, a dormant kaiju that generates electricity. Yasuhiro Yoshira handles planning and script writing, while Yuji Kaneko designs the kaiju and mecha. Kengo Saito serves as character and animation director, with Studio Rikka and Trigger producing the animation. Suddenly, the giant robot PROTO-TAITAN appears in the sky and devastates the city. This attack disrupts the electrical flow within ELEKI-MAGMA, causing the accumulated energy to awaken the beast. As citizens flee in panic, a massive battle erupts between the awakened kaiju and the mysterious robot. The conflict escalates into a large-scale confrontation above the fleeing population, threatening the infrastructure the city relies upon for power.
