Moneylender Battenbou expresses disappointment that his children, Botan and Ribon, lack interest in making money. To address this, he approaches Kirimaru, who is currently working a part-time job organizing Battenbou's warehouse. Battenbou requests that Kirimaru take on the role of mentor for his children. The goal is for Kirimaru to train Botan and Ribon as his apprentices, presumably to teach them the value of earning an income through practical experience under his guidance.
