During his shift at the library, Kirimaru is visited by Danzou, who intends to practice his handwriting. Rantarou and Shinbei arrive shortly after to invite Kirimaru to play by the riverside. Kirimaru declines the invitation because he must attend to his library duties. Consequently, Danzou offers to accompany Rantarou and Shinbei in Kirimaru's place, allowing the group to enjoy their time by the river while Kirimaru remains behind to complete his work responsibilities.
