Rantarou and his companions encounter Hanabusa Makinosuke meditating beneath a waterfall. Learning that Makinosuke has been engaging in serious training, Tobe sensei claims indifference but secretly undertakes a cold bath regimen in the middle of the night. This impulsive decision to train results in Tobe sensei contracting a fever. The group observes Makinosuke’s unusual dedication while dealing with the unexpected health consequences of Tobe sensei’s unsupervised nighttime exercise routine.
