Makeno Oshimi, the disciple of swordsman Yagyuu Kintetsu, writes to Tobe sensei to report that Kintetsu has collapsed from illness. Since Tobe sensei is occupied with the 6th years exam, he cannot travel personally. Consequently, he instructs Kingo to go in his place to check on the situation. This assignment diverts Kingo from his current duties to address the urgent matter concerning the ailing master swordsman and his student.
