Ongaku

A group of unskilled high school delinquents with no resources attempt to form a rock band in order to impress their friend Aya, avoid conflict with a rival group, and play music. Despite lacking talent or equipment, they pursue their goal with determination. The film, adapted from a manga by Hiroyuki Oohashi, is animated primarily by Kenji Iwaisawa and features a lead voice performance by Shintaro Sakamoto, a prominent figure in Japanese alternative rock. It blends humor and a laid-back tone, offering a unique take on the slacker comedy genre, culminating in an energetic musical performance.
