During his search for an Ozma, Sam witnesses a woman fleeing from the Theseus Army. An Ozma appears, causing the military to retreat, allowing Sam to save the woman, who identifies herself as Maya. He brings her to his ship for food, but the army soon surrounds the vessel and demands her surrender. The captain chooses to defend Maya, prompting the military to open fire. In a surprising maneuver, the ship dives into the desert sand to escape, baffling the Theseus commander.
