Gilbert explains the events of the ten years following Oz's disappearance. Break advises him to spy on the Nightray family to find information about the chain, Raven, and Oz in Abyss. Gilbert initially hesitates because the Vessalius and Nightray households are rivals. He eventually agrees to go with Break and meets Vincent. During their reunion, Gilbert reveals he has no memory of Vincent, his younger brother. As he matured, Gilbert discovered a method to tame Raven and establish a contract with it. This process allowed him to gain the nickname "Raven". The narrative focuses on his past experiences and the acquisition of his title through this specific bond with the creature.
