Ep. 9: Oz rescues impoverished noble boy Phillip while confronting painful memories of his father's rejection.

Oz saves Phillip, a boy from a noble family that recently lost its wealth. When Phillip asks about Oz's parents, a flashback reveals that ten years ago, young Gilbert was rejected by his father, who called him filthy and unfit. After three days in a dungeon, Gil apologizes for interfering, but Oz accepts his father's hatred. Later, Echo, the girl who brought flowers, takes Phillip hostage because his father became an illegal contractor. Pandora member Reim (Liam) reports that Grim escaped unharmed. As Echo pursues Phillip and Oz follows her, Gil and Alice search for a chain Alice sensed. Echo targets the chain instead, getting injured until Vincent stops her. Gil releases Alice's powers, but Oz tries to prevent her from killing Phillip's father, hearing a voice in his mind claim he can hold her back.
