Professor Elm instructs Ash and his companions to retrieve a Pokémon egg from a marine research center and transport it to him. During this task, Ash encounters a herd of Lapras, where he recognizes one individual he previously captured in the Orange Islands. Team Rocket attempts to seize the entire group, prompting the reunited trainer and Pokémon to intervene and thwart the villains' plans to capture them.
