The following day, Ash faces Gladion in a three-on-three Finals match. Gladion leads with Silvally, while Ash introduces Melmetal for its first battle. After Silvally defeats Melmetal, Ash sends out Pikachu, who successfully defeats Silvally. Gladion then deploys Lycanroc, which utilizes moves that are unexpected for its species.
