Poemy Watanabe battles aliens and discovers her magical girl powers after her home is destroyed.
Mar 7, 2001The episode opens with Poemy fighting various magical girl icons before introducing her as an energetic student aiming to be a voice actress. She attends school with her supportive best friend Futaba Aasu, who harbors romantic feelings for her. Upon returning home, they discover Poemy’s adoptive parents and robot dog crucified by Alien #1, an extraterrestrial assassin. With her home destroyed, Poemy moves in with Futaba and her six sisters. Later, a massive alien robot attacks the city, revealing that the Aasu sisters are actually a secret team of defensive heroines protecting Sol III. Unable to defeat the robot with their magic, Poemy obtains a talking magic fish that transforms her into Puni Puni Poemy. Instead of using magic, she discards the wand and attacks the robot with her bare hands.

Dec 19, 2001Poemy utilizes her new abilities to obliterate an alien mecha, then attempts to pursue voice acting and social justice. Her methods prove destructive, as she harshly penalizes minor infractions and accidentally redirects a nuclear missile, wiping out a nation. The Aasu sisters eventually confront her, discovering she is the Poemy Watanabe they have been hosting. It is revealed that K, the schoolboy Poemy likes, is an octopus-like alien planning an invasion. The next morning, a massive Death Star approaches Earth while K captures the Aasu sisters, subjecting them to bondage inspired by anime. Finally, Poemy’s foster parents, Nabeshin and Kumi-Kumi, are shown to be alive. Poemy and Futaba combine their powers to restore peace and defeat the extraterrestrial threat.
