Ep. 1: Poemy Watanabe battles aliens and discovers her magical girl powers after her home is destroyed.

The episode opens with Poemy fighting various magical girl icons before introducing her as an energetic student aiming to be a voice actress. She attends school with her supportive best friend Futaba Aasu, who harbors romantic feelings for her. Upon returning home, they discover Poemy’s adoptive parents and robot dog crucified by Alien #1, an extraterrestrial assassin. With her home destroyed, Poemy moves in with Futaba and her six sisters. Later, a massive alien robot attacks the city, revealing that the Aasu sisters are actually a secret team of defensive heroines protecting Sol III. Unable to defeat the robot with their magic, Poemy obtains a talking magic fish that transforms her into Puni Puni Poemy. Instead of using magic, she discards the wand and attacks the robot with her bare hands.
