Ep. 9: Doktor plots control while Freemum seeks territory and Nice acts in a play with Hajime
Doktor expresses his desire to control Minimum Holders within the Minimum Agency, while Freemum members work to make Art an idol and claim Yokohama as their territory. Simultaneously, subjects from the basement where Hajime was held are transferred to a hospital. Honey and Three visit Nowhere Cafe to hire Nice and others as actors for a production of The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter. Hajime is cast as Princess Kaguya, while Nice is the only one to elicit a smile from him during auditions. Three eventually assumes the role of taking Kaguya away, which prompts Nice to improvise and hold Hajime’s hand, recalling her past in Facultas. As Birthday and Ratio reflect on this change, Birthday begins showing symptoms of a near-fatal illness. The episode concludes with Nice discovering a letter from Hajime addressed to him.
