Acting on orders from the council of elders governing Lugunica, Wilhelm and Felis visit Roswaal's mansion as emissaries. Emilia must travel to the imperial capital immediately, prompting Subaru to request she take him along. Although Emilia warns that this is not a leisure trip, pressure from Rem and Roswaal leads to her agreement. Consequently, Emilia and Subaru depart for the capital. Their arrival coincides with the gathering of all candidates for the next king of Lugunica, marking the beginning of the royal selection process.
