Subaru resides and works within Roswaal's mansion alongside Ram and Rem. He successfully convinces Emilia to agree to a date with him. However, the scheduled day never arrives because Subaru repeatedly returns to the moment he first awakened in the mansion. He is confused by his Return by Death ability, as he has no memory of experiencing any fatal events. Despite this lack of memory, he remains determined to repeat his previous actions until he fulfills his promise to Emilia. This cycle continues as he attempts to reach the promised date without understanding the cause of his repeated resets.
