Yukimura demands proof of a discovery, leading to the realization that universal evidence for love is impossible. He concludes that individual awareness of affection is sufficient. Upon Himuro’s confession, Yukimura writes an equation to catalog his feelings and declares his love in return. Himuro, thrilled, establishes a new research boundary requiring daily hugs to boost love-related chemicals. Yukimura agrees and is surprised when she kisses him out of personal desire rather than scientific necessity. The lab celebrates the completion of this phase, but the pair insists their work is just beginning. They must now determine if their bond qualifies as romantic or merely friendly. Until this new research concludes, they remain officially undated, which infuriates Kanade. Kosuke is pleased that he can choose not to love Ibarada under their new definition, while Kanade accepts their current happiness as sufficient for now.
