Ep. 14: Romeo Takes Charge of Gradisca Mines After Banishment from the Keep

Lord Montague banishes Romeo from the keep, granting him authority over the Gradisca Mines with a mandate to double production before his return. Upon arrival, Romeo discovers the workforce consists of minor criminals and chooses to labor alongside them to boost output. He forms a bond with a frail miner named Petruchio. Tragically, Petruchio falls ill and passes away shortly after. Following this loss, another worker reveals the circumstances of Petruchio’s imprisonment and explains the stark divide between Nobles and Commoners. Overwhelmed by these revelations, Romeo mourns deeply at Petruchio’s grave, confronting the harsh realities of his new role and the social hierarchy he now navigates.
