Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan - Tsuioku-hen

A wandering swordsman named Hiko Seiijuro intervenes during a bandit attack on a slave transport, killing the attackers but saving only one child. After instructing the boy to seek refuge in a nearby village, Hiko returns to find the child has marked graves for both the slain slaves and the bandits. Recognizing promise in the boy, Hiko adopts him, giving him the name Kenshin and training him in the Hiten Mitsuruugi Ryu sword style. The narrative follows Kenshin's internal conflict between his ideals and the brutal realities he faces, chronicling his transformation into Hitokiri Battousai, a feared assassin during the Japanese Revolution.
