Season two commences one week after season one in-universe, despite a one-year real-time gap. The narrative focuses on character dynamics as friends and family gather to bother Kusuo at his desk. While Kusuo attempts to evade his relatives during Christmas celebrations at his home, he spends New Year's Day watching television programs that unexpectedly feature his loved ones. Meanwhile, Toritsuka joins Haito's tennis team to pursue a fellow player. Kusuo also disguises himself as a girl to access a women-only buffet, where close interactions with female acquaintances threaten to expose his true identity.
