They are rescued by siblings residing in a village inhabited exclusively by youkai. These villagers assist the travelers despite an ongoing conflict between their community and a nearby human city over control of a vital oasis. The group relies on the hospitality of these youkai while navigating the tensions surrounding the resource dispute that divides the two settlements.
