Yuriko remembers her grandmother's wish to gift her a painting upon marriage and asks Sakurako to identify it among her personal effects. Sakurako examines three paintings, finding significance in each, but concludes she cannot determine the correct one, viewing it as a mystery only Yuriko can resolve. The following day, Shoutarou shares pudding with Sakurako and caretaker Ume Sawa, mourning his grandmother who passed away from cancer. He wonders why she always requested a specific brand of pudding. Ume explains that this habit allowed time for painkillers to take effect, ensuring his hospital visits remained peaceful and comfortable for her.
