Ritsu wakes from a dream about Saga and heads to Marukawa Publishing to prepare his first manga proposal. After Takano initially rejects the pitch, he stays late to revise it. Takano offers assistance, then kisses Ritsu to relieve tension, prompting Ritsu to strike him. Yokozawa arrives, orders Takano away, and asserts ownership over him, dismissing Ritsu’s denial of romantic ties with Masamune. The following day, Ritsu meets a former colleague for drinks; she falls into his arms, an incident witnessed by Takano and writer Ichinose Erika, causing Ritsu to feel jealous. Upon returning home, Takano accuses Ritsu of laziness, confesses his love, and makes another advance. Ritsu flees the apartment.
