Mikihisa enters the tournament with two children, prompting Hao's soldiers to attack. Ren sacrifices his safety to shield his teammates while the Hanagumi chase the children. Anna, Jun, and Tamao intervene to assist. Ren initially dominates his opponents but suffers a fatal injury from the sibling of a Patch member he previously eliminated. Horohoro and Chocolove attempt to rescue Ren but are overwhelmed by the sheer number of enemies. The group finds themselves in a desperate situation as Ren's condition worsens and their allies struggle against the superior forces arrayed against them.
