Yoh reflects on his past at age 10, recalling how his grandparents arranged his marriage to Anna. During his trip to Osore, he encounters Matamune, a spirit who has served the Asakura family for generations. Upon meeting Anna, Yoh is suddenly attacked by oni. Matamune intervenes to save Yoh from the assault. This sequence highlights the long-standing connection between Yoh and Anna, as well as the protective role of the loyal spirit Matamune in the Asakura lineage.
