Shin Seiki Evangelion Movie: Shi to Shinsei

A compilation movie for the series Shin Seiki Evangelion, this film was released to keep fans engaged while the production of *End of Evangelion* was delayed. It recounts events from the series, beginning with a meteorite striking Antarctica in the early 21st century, followed by a massive explosion known as the Second Impact. A 14-year-old boy named Shinji Ikari travels to Tokyo-3, a fortified city under attack by creatures called Angels, to meet his long-absent father. Shinji is placed in Evangelion Unit 01, a giant robot he can synchronize with, and is made its permanent pilot to defend the city. As he battles the Angels, he uncovers deeper truths about their nature, the Second Impact, and the conflict between humanity and divinity.
