Ep. 1: Levi and his companions accept a risky surface mission that leads to their arrest by the Survey Corps.

Years prior, Levi and his partner Furlan Church operated as thieves in an Underground District, utilizing maneuver gear for heists to support one another. Their group expanded when they rescued Isabel Magnolia, a girl pursued by guards for attempting to return an injured bird to the surface. Later, a mysterious man from the surface coerced the trio into accepting a job that promised citizenship in exchange for a hostage situation. Although Levi, Furlan, and Isabel successfully evaded the military police during the mission, they were ultimately captured by the Survey Corps. The organization’s leader, Erwin, presented them with a deal: their criminal records would be cleared if they agreed to join the Survey Corps, marking a pivotal shift in their lives.
