A recruitment mission to find new Shinkalion drivers across Japan has started. Hayato travels to Akita City in Akita Prefecture to meet the first candidate. Unfamiliar with the snowy conditions, he loses his way and slips. A cool boy named Akita Oga helps him up. They separate shortly after this encounter. Later, while boarding the Shinkansen E6 Series Komachi for his return trip, Hayato discovers that Akita Oga is seated next to him. This unexpected reunion occurs during the ongoing search for talented drivers from various regions of the country.
