Masayuki intervenes to help Michio Hoshino, who is being bullied, and subsequently introduces the concept of O.B.E. to him. Concurrently, Tarou and Masayuki begin questioning each other regarding the mountain. Makoto realizes he can transform while in an O.B.E. state after observing Tarō and Masayuki perform similar actions during their prior investigation. In a separate development, Shinto priest Takahito Komagusu encounters Saruta, who suggests that two other individuals besides him are present on the mountain.
