Tarō experiences a lengthy O.B.E. sequence in which he sees a feverish Miyako in bed and encounters Masato Kaibara, identified as the Snark, within a hidden realm. He subsequently joins Masayuki, Makoto, and Michio to visit her house. When Tarō relays the statements Miyako made while possessed, Takahito becomes frightened and instructs the group to depart. Upon reaching the bottom of the shrine steps, they encounter Noriko Kabata, who serves as the handmaiden to Himeko Oogami, the grandmother of Makoto.
