Since arriving in Shinjuku, Tetsuya has steadily improved his confidence in gambling. However, his progress is halted by a disturbing opponent. During the final round of their match, Tetsuya reaches a critical juncture, needing only one specific tile to achieve the rare Kokushi Muso hand. Despite being on the verge of victory, he fails to secure the win. Instead, he is thoroughly defeated by Boshu, a professional player from the local area, resulting in a significant loss for Tetsuya.
