Akiko receives a call from her cousin Keiko, who tries to trick her into leaving the palace and Seimei's demon-repelling barrier. Akiko detects something amiss with Keiko's behavior. The following day, she tasks Masahiro with investigating the situation regarding her cousin, who is supposedly bedridden with illness.
