Matsushima informs Ren that Kyoko is replacing his manager due to illness. Ren treats Kyoko coldly, leading to a poor first day where she feels useless. During a drive, they stop for dinner after Kyoko’s stomach growls. High school girls mock Kyoko’s uniform, prompting her to reveal she dropped out. Ren asks about her past, and Kyoko explains her revenge plan against Sho. Ren expresses disgust at her motivation, clarifying his earlier coldness. Later, L.M.E. president offers Kyoko a spot in a performance-arts high school, which she accepts pending an exam. Ren begins showing signs of illness while shooting. Kyoko suggests he take medicine, but he refuses. By morning, Ren has a fever and sore throat. He insists on filming a rain scene despite his condition. After multiple takes due to an inexperienced co-star, Ren passes out in the dressing room, trapping Kyoko beneath him.
