Yorito Morimiya, a boy who enjoys photographing the sky, meets a strange girl early one morning while preparing to capture the sunrise. After a brief conversation, she vanishes without a trace. The following day, while returning from grocery shopping on a rainy night, Yorito encounters the same girl again and learns her name is Matsuri Shihou. He later discovers that Matsuri resides in a church and decides to visit her. Concurrently, Matsuri finds herself being pursued by a mysterious man, adding an element of danger to their reconnection and Yorito's subsequent journey to find her.
