Ep. 1: Sonic and allies face Black Eggman in Eggmanland to stop a generator explosion

Dr. Eggman creates Hyper Metal Sonic to collect life data. Sonic relaxes near crashed vehicles with Tails, who uses a Jet-Propelled Bodyboard. Sonic saves Old Man Owl from the President, who summons Sonic to his office. The President reveals Doctor Robotnik was kidnapped by Black Eggman, also known as Metal Robotnik in the English dub. Black Eggman appeared in Eggmanland, or Robotropolis in the English dub, exiled the doctor, and sabotaged the Robot Generator to explode within a day. He tasks Sonic with stopping the threat in the Land of Darkness. They encounter Black Eggman, but Knuckles the Echidna intervenes near the end. The trio teams up to destroy the mecha, revealing it is Eggman himself. He lured Sonic to copy his memories and personality for Hyper Metal Sonic, a robot sharing Sonic's life. The episode concludes with the group approaching the generator.
