Ep. 1: Saku Ōyagi reunites with childhood friend Mihoshi Akeno and joins the astronomy club.

Saku Ōyagi returns to his hometown after moving away several years earlier to start high school. He previously preferred staying home reading, while his childhood friend Mihoshi Akeno often dragged him outside. Their relationship soured when Mihoshi fell from a tree on their last day together, resulting in Saku breaking his arm and avoiding her since. On his first day of high school, Saku encounters Mihoshi recruiting members for the astronomy club. Although he initially tries to evade her, he learns she was hospitalized and could not see him off years ago. Understanding this, Saku reconciles with Mihoshi and decides to join the astronomy club.
