Second-year middle school student Hoshina Hikaru encounters a mysterious fairy while drawing constellations. She is briefly transported to space and wakes up believing it was a dream, yet she names the creature Fuwa. Aliens Lala and Prunce arrive on Earth searching for Fuwa, but the antagonist Kappard follows them with hostile intentions. To protect the fairy from Kappard, Hikaru transforms into the legendary warrior Cure Star. This sequence of events confirms her extraordinary encounter was real and establishes her role as a guardian against the invading threat.
