The Amaterasu, suffering from blindness and crippling injuries, attempts to recover its balance. Simultaneously, the Conquistador is blinded by a plasma cannon shot from the Amaterasu. Capitalizing on this vulnerability, the Amaterasu decides to rush the enemy vessel while the Conquistador is still shooting blindly. Before the Conquistador can deliver a finishing blow, it receives orders to hand over the Amaterasu to the Earth Federation, altering the immediate course of the conflict.
