Ep. 20: Rintaro wakes in 2036 Akihabara to learn of Daru's time leap and Mayuri's missed rescue window.
After a previous time leap attempt, Rintaro awakens in 2036 Akihabara, devastated by World War 3, where Daru, Suzuha, and others form a resistance. Daru explains he used a recovered time leap machine to implant Rintaro's 2011 memories into his current body. He recounts that in 2011, a malfunction caused them to miss the 48-hour window to save Mayuri, leading to a new machine project. In 2025, Rintaro was captured and tortured by Stratfor. Upon rescue by Daru, Rintaro was brain-dead but alive. For the next 11 years, his survival remained a secret among select resistance members. As Daru finishes, Luka and Faris fall into an enemy trap. Luka sacrifices himself to protect the group, dying in Rintaro's arms. Confronting this truth, Rintaro requests to use the time leap machine to return to 2011.
