Rintaro works to qualify for studying abroad, causing concern for Mayuri. Daru and Maho continue developing the Time Leap Machine with minimal progress until Rintaro discovers their work. He angrily declares it impossible to save both Mayuri and Kurisu, stating he chose to sacrifice Kurisu to protect Mayuri and the Beta worldline. Maho argues that Steins Gate must exist and they only need to find the formula to reach it. Rintaro leaves the argument and meets Mayuri, who overheard the discussion. She expresses regret for previously advising him to stop trying to save Kurisu, noting that he remains unhappy and suffering in this worldline.
