Six months after the conflict with Kugel's fleet, the Gargantia fleet prepares to integrate former members of the Kugel fleet, now freed from the control of the machine caliber Striker. New individuals join the crew as the ship continues its mission. Ledo, working with a salvage team, collects data on the previous civilization, driven by a desire to understand why humans abandoned Earth and the causes of the conflict with the Hideous. His interest in archaeology has grown, prompting further exploration of human history. At the same time, Amy trains a new messenger, Leema, who was originally part of Kugel's fleet. After that fleet's dissolution, Leema has started a new life aboard Gargantia.
